The Corralejo area of Fuerteventura lends itself to many activities from lazing on the miles of white sandy beaches, visiting the Baku Waterpark or for the more energetic an attempt at Kite Surfing.
BEACHES: There are a number of beaches here from the 7 km of Sand Dunes which have been designated as a Natural Park to the smaller beaches in the town. As well as these the island has a number of beaches tucked away just waiting to be hunted out.
BAKU WATERPARK: The only Water Park on the island is located in Corralejo and is only a 10 minute walk from Seymour Views. Their website can be visited by clicking here There is also a market here on a Monday and Friday mornings.
GOLF: There are a number of golf courses in Caleta De Fuste which is approximately a 45 minute drive away. There is a 9 hole Golf Course in Corralejo approximately 1500 meters away. Their website can be located here
KITE SURFING: Although we have never tried this sport it is very popular here in Corralejo. The summer trade winds make Fuerteventura the ideal place for Kitesurfing. There are a number of Kite Surfing Schools here that can teach from beginers to advanced levels. Corralejo lends itself to all levels of surfers. Every year, some of the worlds best windsurfers and kite-surfers compete on Fuerteventura in the resort of Sotavento, with events such as Racing, Freestyle and Super X
VISIT LANZAROTE: From Corralejo Harbour there are boats every hour to Lanzarote from 0745 hours until 1900 hours. These ferries are operated by 2 different companies so make sure you check the return timetable for the company you use. The Fred Olsen catamaran takes only 12 minutes to get to Lanzarote.
LOS LOBOS ISLAND: As well as looking over to Los Lobos island from the roof terrace there are many companies offering trips on small boats either to the island or tours around the island. The island used to be home to a dense population of seals 'Lobos del mar' (Sea Wolves) hence its name.
LOCAL PUBS/RESTAURANTS: The Oasis Tamarindo complex is only a 5 minute walk away from the villa. Here you will find a selection of bars, cafe's and a cake shop!!. Most of these in this centre are British owned and run and sell home cooked British Food, serve British drinks and speak English. Beware though, the spirits are still Spanish Measures!!
Free WIFI: As well as Free WiFi in the Villa a number of the bars at Oasis Tamarindo offer free WIFI. Clarkies Bar also has a computer that can be used for a small fee. There is 3G coverage in the Villa for most UK networks. The Canary Islands are included in the Inclusive Roaming Countries.
SUPERMARKETS: There are several supermarkets in Corralejo. The closest one is the Mercadona Supermarket approximately 700 meters away. There is a British Supermarket near the El Campanario Centre. The prices in this shop are more expensive that at home but if you cant manage without your Heinz Ketchup or HP Sauce then this is the place to go. The other major supermarkets are in the main town. These are either the Eurospar Padilla opposite the bus station (Tel: 0034 928 537 165) or the Hiperdino which is on Calle General Garcia Escames. This is only a few streets away from the Eurospar. Both of these have free parking. There are numerous smaller supermarkets although these tend to be more expensive.
